Dr. Jeff Craley earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2022. His dissertation research focused on developing machine learning algorithms for seizure localization in scalp EEG recordings. He earned an MS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University in 2015. He also earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering and BA in English Literature from Virginia Tech in 2011.
Alana Chandler
Alana Chandler is an MD-PhD candidate in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the Johns Hopkins University. She earned her BS in Bioengineering from the University of Maryland-College Park. Her research interests include neural signal processing, machine learning, brain-machine interfaces, and neurology.
Jeffrey Zhou
Jeffrey Zhou is an undergraduate student majoring in neuroscience and computer science going into his senior year. He wants to work with and develop algorithms that can help better diagnose neurological diseases and disorders.
Emily Reed
Yun Hwang
Yun Hwang earned his B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and B.S. in Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University. During his undergraduate training, he worked to show dysregulated sleep homeostasis in a genetic epilepsy model. He is currently working on a project striving to implement closed-loop electric stimulation strategy to treat chronic pain.
Abel Corver
Abel Corver is a PhD student studying the construction rules that underpin spider web-making, jointly supervised by Sri Sarma and Andrew Gordus. He aims to develop assays and algorithms to reveal the quantitative relationship between sensory input and motor output, with a particular interest in the role of internal memory states in coordinating behavioral sequences. Before his work on arthropod behavior, he completed a bachelor in linguistics.
Ishan Jain
Ishan Jain is a master’s student in biomedical engineering at the Johns Hopkins University. He completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi with a minor in physics. He is currently working on localizing the seizure onset zone in epilepsy using time-evolution matrices in dynamic brain network models. He is also investigating the neural correlates of drug levels in epileptic patients. He was born on the Indian east coast and raised in New Delhi.
