Mateo earned his BS in Cybersecurity from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, where he also focused on Natural Language Processing. After graduating at 18, he joined the NCSL, where he has been researching biomarkers for chronic pain in EEG.
Sophia Zhai
Sophia earned her BS in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in Computational Medicine from the Johns Hopkins University. She also obtained minors in Psychology, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Computational Medicine. Her research interests in the NCSL include localization of the epileptogenic zone in drug-resistant epilepsy, optimization of neuromodulation parameters for treatment, and developing computational tools to enhance treatment efficacy.
